Bioplastics in Packaging - Exhibition at Interpack 2011
12 to 18 May 2011, Duesseldorf
For the third time in a row, European Bioplastics and Messe Düsseldorf will present a large group exhibition about “Bioplastics in Packaging”. The first two bioplastics shows with more than 10,000 trade visitors each, sold-out exhibition space and a high interest of public and media give evidence of the importance of sustainable technologies for bio-based and compostable packaging.Global interest in bioplastics continues apace as developments in technology bring greater performance capabilities, and investments in the end-of-life handling solutions help support the environmental credentials of this packaging option. Major retailers all over Europe offer food packaging made of bioplastics, and brand owners from the electronic and the automotive sector are more and more focussing on bioplastics materials.
Many leading companies and newcomers have announced investments in expanding the production capacities of bioplastics within the upcoming years. Accordingly, the global production capacity will increase from nearly 350,000 tons today to well over 1.5 million tons by 2012.
The closing date for registrations is 28 February 2010.
