EUBP NEWSFLASH: Reactivation of WG Communications and participation in Bioplastics Week 2022

Dear Members, 

Recently, European Bioplastics’ Working Group on Communications has been dormant, and we would like to seize the special momentum that has been created by the recently held Board election to re-activate this working group.  

Therefore, we would like to invite everyone who is interested in getting involved in this group to contact us, so that we can add you to the WG Comms distribution list. If you have been a member of the group in the past, please also kindly confirm your interest to participate in the WG.

A lot of important communication tasks lie ahead of us, for which we need the support from our members. This includes, amongst other things, the update of key EUBP communication material, especially e.g., our Environmental Communications Guide and our EUBP website, to make it fit for tomorrow.  

To ensure a close link between the members and the EUBP Comms team, we need to elect a new Chair and Vice Chair. Both positions would be elected during the WG Comms kick-off meeting (date tbd). Please contact us if you are interested in running for group Chair or Vice Chair. One of the first activities of the WG Comms would be the adoption of a new Working Programme, as the current one will terminate at the end of this year.    

Last but not least, we like to raise everyone’s awareness to the Bioplastics Week 2022 (12-16 September) organized by the Plastics Industry Association (US Plastic). This year again, EUBP supports the online campaign taking place on Twitter and LinkedIn as official partner. We invite everyone to participate in this important online event, which provides a great international platform for bioplastic related topics. Feel free to post your individual company communications material according to the daily topic on the agenda by using #BIOPLASTICSWEEK.  

There is also the possibility to participate in short, pre-recorded interviews (2-3 minutes) that will be posted on social media and uploaded to the US Plastic YouTube channel during the campaign. Last year, EUBP staff and some EUBP members already successfully participated in a first round of interviews. Please, send us an email if you are interested in participating. 

We kindly ask you to contact us at your earliest possible convenience if you are interested in any of the above, but preferably no later than 31 July. After that, we will propose a few dates for the WG Comms kick-off meeting.
