Opportunity to join the Advisory Board for EBC26

Dear Members,

To ensure a balanced, high-quality and independent conference programme, European Bioplastics is establishing a small Advisory Board composed of senior experts from industry, research and academia.
The Advisory Board will operate independently and will not include organisations planning to present at EBC26.

We are therefore inviting up to five experienced professionals to join the Advisory Board for EBC26, with the mandate to shape the strategic direction and content of the conference programme in a neutral and forward-looking manner. As a member of the Advisory Board, you will work at the interface between industry and science, contributing to a programme that reflects real market needs, scientific progress and policy-relevant developments in the bioplastics sector. Your input will be central to ensuring that EBC26 remains a trusted, high-level platform for the entire bioplastic value chain.

Why join the Advisory Board?

Here are some key responsibilities of the Advisory Board members:

  • Defining and refining the core topics of the conference programme
  • Reviewing and evaluating abstract submissions
  • Providing structured, qualitative feedback and ratings
  • Working closely with the EUBP team while maintaining full independence of judgement

The timeline of the Advisory Board is as follows:

  • 13 February 2026: EBC26 Advisory Board complete
  • 23 - 26 February 2026: First Advisory Board Meeting (online)
  • 02 March 2026: Topics for EBC26 programme defined
  • 06 July – 02 August 2026: Review all abstracts (normally about 100-150) and rating/grouping of topics. EUBP Team will send you their rating with all the abstracts by 06 July.
  • 03 - 07 August 2026:  Second Advisory Board meeting to discuss the abstracts
  • 17 - 21 August 2026: Third Advisory Board meeting: Discussion of first draft programme (written by EUBP Team)
  • 31 August - 04 September 2026: Fourth Advisory Board meeting: Final discussion on programme
  • Before 18 September 2026: Publication of first programme

In addition to industry, research and academic representatives, one Advisory Board member will be selected from outside the EUBP membership, supporting a balanced and inclusive composition of the Board.

If you are interested in contributing to an independent, high-quality and strategically relevant EBC26 programme, or if you would like to discuss the role in more detail, please contact me at valdix@european-bioplastics.org by 6 February 2026.

Best regards,
Denise Valdix
