Study aims to understand the biodegradation of individual polymers and their blends in managed and unmanaged environments
The authors of the study “Biodegradable plastic blends create new possibilities for end-of-life management of plastics but they are not a panacea for plastic pollution” investigate the fate of a range of biodegradable plastics and their blends under simulated controlled and uncontrolled environments.

Neste and LyondellBasell announce commercial-scale production of bio-based polypropylene and bio-based low-density polyethylene
Neste, the world’s largest producer of renewable diesel from waste and residues, and LyondellBasell, one of the largest plastics, chemicals and refining companies in the world, have announced the first parallel production of bio-based polypropylene and bio-based low-density polyethylene at a commercial scale.

European Bioplastics Conference: The early bird rate ends on 12 July. Register now!
Register for the 14th European Bioplastics Conference before 12 July 2019 and save up to 300€ with the early bird rate! The leading event for the bioplastics industry is taking place on 3 - 4 December 2019 at the Titanic Chassee Hotel in Berlin, Germany. Experts are invited to submit proposals for presentations. Submissons for poster presentations are also welcome. The deadline to submit abstracts end on 31 July 2019.

Succesfull kick-off meeting of the BIOnTOP project
On 18 – 19 June, the BIOnTOP kick-off meeting took place at the premises of project coordinator AIMPLAS in Valencia, Spain. The four-year project aims at delivering bio-based recyclable-by-design cost competitive packaging solutions that can be mechanically recycled, industrially or home compostable, or suitable for anaerobic digestion.

Event: Single-Serve Capsules
The 3rd edition of AMI's international Single-Serve Capsules conference will take place on 24 - 25 September 2019 at the Sofitel Berlin Kurfürstendamm in Berlin, Germany.
