Scientific view on the plastic bag debate by Fraunhofer UMSICHT

Facts on bio-based plastics made simple
The Netherlands Enterprise Agency and Wageningen University published an info graphic that highlights the main facts and benefits of bio-based plastics. The graphic includes facts about the usage benefits, environmental benefits, feedstocks, properties, recycling, and prices of bio-based plastics and advertises a new labelling system introduced in the Netherlands to help consumers choose the appropriate recycling option for packaging and other products made from bio-based plastics.

PolyBioSkin develops biopolymers for high-demand skin-contact applications
The EU-funded PolyBioSkin project commenced work on the development of biopolymers for high-demand skin-contact applications. At the end of June 2017, the project consortium, comprising of 12 partners, including European Bioplastics (EUBP), met in Castelldefels in Spain for the kick-off meeting hosted by project coordinator IRIS to discuss how new generation bio-based polymers can help advance sustainable alternatives in sanitary, cosmetic, and biomedical applications.
