EUBP Talk #5: Bioplastics Recycling: From Innovation to Implementation in the PPWR Era
We are pleased to invite you to the final live event of this series, a workshop, entitled, “Bioplastics Recycling: From Innovation to Implementation in the PPWR Era”. An official EU Green Week 2025 Partner Event.
Our workshop will be held on 3 June 2025 at EUBP premises in Brussels, Avenue Palmerston 3. It is an in-person event and will be followed by a networking dinner.
Workshop objectives:
- Present the latest EU-funded research and innovations in bioplastics recycling.
- Discuss key challenges, policy incentives, and industrial strategies to scale up solutions.
- Foster dialogue between science, policy, and industry to bridge the gap between research and real-world implementation.
The series started in February and was titled “Advancements in Recycling of Bioplastics.” It focused on the recycling of bioplastics and the scaling up of recycling technologies. It’s primary goals were to:
- Offer a platform to share latest results of research and innovation
- Share information on some technologies that are already commercially in use
- Offer a possibility for European Bioplastics members and other interested stakeholders to connect to outstanding research organisations
- Gather R&I input for policy positions/papers
As part of EU Green Week 2025, which this year focuses on circular economy solutions, our final workshop offers a timely opportunity to reflect on how innovation in bioplastics recycling can contribute to the goals of the Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR).
